Globally renowned pianist Piers Lane is returned this January for a concert in the intimate Studio, Dubai Opera. It’s one of the best shows to attend this January. A prolific artist, Piers has a great reputation as an engaging and highly versatile performer at concerto repertoire.  Along with an extensive discography, Piers has been a five times soloist at the BBC Proms. His extensive-ranging concerto repertoire exceeds 100 works and with many of the world’s great orchestras, like Brett Dean Sir Andrew Davis, Gerard Schwartz, and Vassily Sinaisky. After 2017, he’s back with the highlights of 2022 inclusing two Wigmore Hall solo recitals, an Australian tour, a performance at the Bard Festival New York, appearances for series and festivals in Australia, as well as Czech Republic, India, Spain, Italy, UK and USA.

Svetlana Zakharova / “MODANSE”

Internationally renowned ballerina Svetlana Zakharova – the Bolshoi’s prima will come to the Dubai Opera on 27 and 28 January 2023. A towering figure in the 21st century, ballet is all set to join onstage by a star-studded cast of dancers from the Bolshoi Theatre. The night will open with a ballet Come Un Respiro by Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti for Svetlana Zakharova. However, the musical basis of the performance was formed by George Frideric Handel. The Baroque period is not only in the music, but also in dance choreography that is emphasized by stylish costumes designed for the ballet by Helena de Medeiros. Moreover, the second part of the performance will feature a tribute to the fashion Mademoiselle Coco Chanel. It’s fascinating to know that Ballet Gabrielle Chanel is the collaboration by choreographer Yury Possokhov and Ilya Demutsky with Alexei Frandetti, the libretto and acted as director.
