Comet 2022 E3 (ZTF) is a celestial object that is passing by Earth for the first time in 50,000 years. It was spotted from the Abu Dhabi desert in January 2023 by the International Astronomy Centre (IAC) and NASA had earlier predicted that the comet would be closest to the sun on January 12th. The comet is expected to be visible to the naked eye until February 5th, but even if it doesn’t brighten enough, it will still be viewable with binoculars and small telescopes. The CEO of Dubai Astronomy Group (DAG) recommends using binoculars as they have a wide-angle field of view, making it easier to locate the comet compared to a telescope which has a narrow-angle field of view.
